Is the JVC GYHM100 the same as the JVC GYHM100U? If not what are the differences?
The "U" suffix on JVC model numbers designates that the product is manufactured for the North American market. Models with an "E" suffix are made for Europe. On some JVC models, the only difference is with the regulatory approvals and power adapters. Other JVC models may have different features and performance characteristics. In the case of the GY-HM100, the main difference between the U and E models is that the composite video output is NTSC for North America and PAL for Europe. Otherwise, the cameras are basically the same. Marketing materials often leave off the suffix (as is the case with this web page.)
