I am using the Component Out on my GY-HD200u to connect to an external HD-SDI recorder by first passing the analog signal through a converter. Does the analog signal come "straight from the chips," or does it get processed digitally, then re-converted to analog before it reaches the component ports? When it comes out the ports, is it 8-bit or 10-bit analog?

Digital processing has been the standard for a very long time, so there is no analog signal straight from the chips. 

Our GY-HD series of cameras process HD-SDI and Component outputs as 8-bit.
