PAL and NTSC are the most common worldwide standards for
standard definition (SD) television. The GY-HM700U does
not record SD, so it is technically neither a PAL nor NTSC
recorder. However, many people associate PAL and NTSC with
25/50Hz and 30/60Hz formats used in HD. The GY-HM700 will
record in all of the worldwide HD formats including the
so-called "PAL" formats (1920 x 1080/50i, 25p, 1440 x
1080/50i, 1280 x 720/50p, 25p) and the so-called "NTSC"
formats (1920 x 1080/59.94i , 29.97p, 23.98p, 1440 x
1080/59.94i, 1280 x 720/59.94p, 29.97p, 23.98p).

The
downconverted composite video output on the camera provides
either a PAL (576i) or NTSC (480i) signal, as does the SDI
output when switched to SD.
